LAMO Footwear Creates Braille Labeled Boot for Seven-Year-Old Cancer Survivor

May 4, 2020 (Los Angeles, CA) – Today, in support of the Saving Sophie Foundation, LAMO Footwear has teamed up with seven-year-old cancer survivor, Sophie. Having gone blind as a result of her tumor, LAMO collaborated to release the Sophie boot that features a braille label. Click Here to see the Saving Sophie Collection.

Diagnosed with an Optic Pathway Glioma brain tumor at a very young age, Sophie and her parents embarked on a life-saving holistic treatment plan. After seven years, Sophie is recovering well and is becoming a strong and outgoing young girl. Parents, Tracy Ryan and her husband Josh, stars of the recent Netflix hit documentary Weed the People, fought for their daughter’s life by investigating every therapeutic treatment available to them, including holistic options and clinical trials.

“After our infant daughter was diagnosed with a low-grade brain tumor at the age of 8 1/2 months old, we were shocked to find how few quality treatments there were for pediatric cancer,” stated Ryan. “Due to the lack of advancements in 40 years, we were ecstatic to learn about medical cannabis when film & television superstar Ricki Lake introduced us to the plant as a potential therapeutic option for our child. It was through her Netflix documentary Weed The People, that features six years of our journey, that we began to uncover the miracles surrounding the medical benefits of this plant.

Now seven years later, Sophie is off treatment, extremely healthy, and the focus of groundbreaking cancer clinical trials led by world renowned research immunologist Dr. Anahid Jewett. The findings the team have uncovered are extraordinary. By working with incredible brands like LAMO, it gives us the ability to advance the science more quickly while we work towards bringing non-toxic treatments for adult and pediatric cancer to market.”

“To directly support the Saving Sophie Foundation, 20 percent of the profits will be donated to help continue funding the research of new cancer treatments for other children and families in similar situations,” stated Jerry Breig, COO of LAMO. “In any situation, it is an incredible privilege to work hand in hand with the very organization that you are working to support, and that is exactly what we have been able to experience with Sophie and her loving parents.”

In addition to the braille LAMO label, the all-pink kid’s boot is complete with a premium suede upper and faux fur lining. Will be available fall, 2020.

In awe of the heartwarming success story between a child and her parents, LAMO recently dedicated five specific styles to the “Saving Sophie Collection” on lamofootwear.com to give men, women and children the opportunity to support the Saving Sophie Foundation through the purchase of a boot, shoe or slipper.

LAMO Footwear Announces its Cirrus Memory Foam Footbed System™

Committed to its technology, LAMO Guarantees 365 Days of Comfort

January 6, 2021 (Los Angeles, Calif.) – Today, the Southern California footwear brand, LAMO, officially announces its Cirrus Memory Foam Footbed System™. The proprietary Cirrus Memory Foam Footbed SystemTM features a high-density memory foam layer that keeps feet comfortable, cool, and floating on clouds!

“Beginning in 2018, we have been able to incorporate this proprietary technology into most of our new styles. The only exception being our brand new LAMOLITE line, which includes its own special formula for cloud-like comfort,” stated LAMO COO, Jerry Breig.

Traditionally a sheepskin footwear brand, LAMO continues to incorporate active-casual styles into its product selection as well. Created in 2018, the Cirrus Memory Foam insole provides an extra level of support and comfort that can be added to practically every LAMO style including boots, moccasins, and slip-on and lace-up silhouettes. With the company’s commitment to the Cirrus Footbed SystemTM, it is clear LAMO is redefining what it means to be a true comfort brand.

“Alongside style and affordability, comfort has truly remained a priority for us. Our Cirrus Memory Foam footbeds allow us to seamlessly integrate that goal across both our cozy sheepskin and casual styles,” says COO, Breig.

LAMO Footwear Projects Confidence Moving into 2021

December 7, 2020 (Los Angeles, CA) – This year alone, Southern California footwear brand LAMO has stretched beyond the uncertainty of the pandemic and reached new milestones by staying focused on providing quality products and pivoting its business strategy to evolve with the changing climate of the footwear industry.

In addition to realigning its focus to meet increased demand from retailers and direct, online consumers with fresh new styles, LAMO has strengthened its customer service team to meet the needs of direct-to-consumer, large retail and small independent and boutique sales.

This year has also seen comfortable, fashionable footwear become the new standard for work from home attire. LAMO’s brand strategy has always taken a “365-day comfort” approach to its designs, but the sudden and sustained demand for its original sheepskin slippers, boots and moccasins has continued to strengthen its direct-to-consumer sales.

“2020 has introduced a lot of changes both within the industry and for us internally as a company. While many of our large retailers were still able to prebook inventory as usual, it was important for us to ensure that our trusted small chains, independent retailers and boutiques could order closer to each season and receive the product they needed,” stated LAMO COO, Jerry Breig. “We are also immensely appreciative of the growth of our direct-to-consumer sales as result of the shift to online shopping. With so many Americans working and learning from home, the new “normal” work shoe has truly allowed for our Cozy 365-day initiative to shine.”

2020 also marked LAMO’s 25th year as a Southern California footwear brand. To celebrate the occasion, LAMO found this as the perfect opportunity to recognize 25 loyal LAMO customers who have given back to their communities. LAMO’s social media and website featured the “LAMO heroes” to discuss the work they were doing and the organizations they were supporting.

“Even though our 25th anniversary event was completely virtual due to the pandemic, it was heartwarming to see the difference our customers were making during difficult times,” stated Breig.

The organizations supported ranged from national charities including American Red Cross and St. Jude, to independent local groups that bring aid and awareness to bullying, battered women, cancer research and mental health.

LAMO hopes to continue highlighting its customers and the impact they are making in their own communities and around the country.

As one of the few companies that still integrates 100% Australian sheepskin into some of its cornerstone products, LAMO continues to use quality materials at an incredible value. Through its diverse product line for men, women and children, LAMO has made cozy footwear accessible for every budget.

Over the past 25 years, LAMO has evolved their product line to meet the changing needs and demands of footwear industry. Providing a combination of sheepskin and active casual styles has allowed LAMO to position themselves as a cutting-edge brand.
